The purpose of this blog was to comment on the new laws of bridge (2007) and to describe my experiences in operating the laws. I intend that the comments on the laws will be based on actual hands, not theoretical discussion. The world has moved on - there is a new new laws of bridge (2017) and I am deputy chief TD at the EBU.
Effective today, I have been promoted to EBU National Tournament Director — to join an illustrious list. Thank you to the various colleagues who have taught and encouraged me in my rise through the ranks, starting from the county director's course in 1990.
